GPA-Trained Midwife Speaks at Mexico's Supreme Court of Justice
On April 17, 2018 a GPA-trained midwife and representative from the statewide midwife movement in Chiapas, Mexico, María Victoria of Sitalá, joined several traditional midwives from around the country, at a round table organized by the Supreme Court of Justice and the National Human Rights Committee, in Mexico City. They gave testimony to the many challenges indigenous women and midwives face and the demands they have so that women can receive quality care and midwives can be officially recognized in the continuum of care. We celebrate these women for their courage and leadership. https://www.scjn.gob.mx/node/58620
