Liliana Rodríguez Menéndez
Associate, M&E, Communications and Respectful Maternal Care
Liliana is a Maya Tsotsil midwife and community facilitator with experience accompanying maternal health, and sexual and reproductive health processes, as well as community work with Indigenous peoples in Chiapas. She is trained in midwifery, prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, herbal pregnancy-support medicine, and facilitation using an intercultural, community-based approach.
From 2018-2026, she collaborated with the organization Sakil Nichim Antsetik (Women of the White Flowers) as a community facilitator, Tsotsil–Spanish interpreter, logistics coordinator, and workshop organizer. At the same time, she has worked as a midwife, supporting women in Indigenous communities and helping train apprentice midwives. She has been a speaker and facilitator at numerous gatherings, including the Foro Retos y Desafíos de la Mujer Indígena (Forum on the Challenges Facing Indigenous Women), the Encuentro de Partería Sabiduría Ancestral (Midwifery Gathering: Ancestral Wisdom), and Pejpenetik: Voces que Florecen (Voices That Bloom).
Her career reflects a commitment to maternal health, sexual and reproductive rights, midwifery, and strengthening the community knowledge and practices of Indigenous peoples in Chiapas. Currently, Liliana is helping to strengthen the accompaniment work of Global Pediatric Alliance (GPA), and provides support in M&E, communications and our Respectful Maternal Care program.
