Where We Work
Mexico
Global Pediatric Alliance has been working in the southernmost state of Chiapas, Mexico since 2004 through our office in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Our programs support the training of traditional, indigenous midwives and community health promoters on lifesaving skills in order to improve the health of women and children in this highly marginalized region.
Guatemala
GPA has been working in Guatemala since 2003. Our projects focus on bringing valuable basic health care to indigenous populations living in some of the country’s most neglected communities, as well as funding locally-designed projects designed to bring clean water and sanitation to rural populations.
Ecuador
GPA had a presence in Ecuador from 2003-2009. During that time, we focused on community health workshops from marginalized communities, and supporting community-driven health projects in Azuay, Orellana, Pastaza and Napo provinces, consisting of rainwater catchment systems and ecological toilets.
